9-18-2025 - We were having unusual noises coming from our water heater. Donell came out and checked out everything. He solved the issue and helped with figuring out solutions to help keep everything running smoothly. He was very kind and explained everything. We have had them out a dozen times since we purchased our house. Mostly for annual checks and a few more when our furnace went out. (It went out on a Sunday, they were here within a couple of hours and we had a new one by Tuesday) We purchased a brand new furnace and air conditioning unit from them as well as got a duct cleaning. Every member we have interacted with has been informative, polite and respectful. Any questions we had they were happy to answer. They gave detailed information on what they were doing and how everything was working. When we were on a time crunch they did their best to have things finished so we could get to work. I will always recommend Petermans Brothers.

I have had a good experience with Peterman Brothers. They did a furnace/AC install and today a ductwork cleaning. Would recommend them to anyone and I do. They are professional and efficient in all their work. Today (8/6/25) had a leak with water on the floor in kitchen. It was the water line for the ice maker. Was repaired and have no more problems. Very happy. Jason did a great job. Quickly found the problem and fixed it.
Even used stainless steel tube so there will be no more leaking. Today(8-13) Nathan came out to fix my light in the kitchen ceiling. He did a great job. Was professional and friendly. Explained what he needed to do. I am happy with his work and with Peterman's. Today (9-18) Cameron came out to do an annual AC check and cleaning. He was friendly and professional. Arrived on time. I was happy with the service I received and will continue to recommend Peterman's.

We had an issue with a gas leak. Chris came out and found the problem and fixed it. All work was done in less than an hour. The parts were pipe sealant.
Gas company came out to reconnect the line and found no issues.

Services Done: Water softener installation, air duct cleaning

Peterman Brothers is a great. Their customer service is stellar and they are open 24/7 in case of any immediate needs. When we called them, they were very diligent and were able to send someone out to our house within 1-2 days.
When they came to our house, they texted us a picture of the person coming and their name; this was a nice touch and made me feel safe! I also noticed that they always wore shoes covers when coming inside the house. Upon inspecting our home and figuring out our water softener situation, they were very helpful in giving us knowledge about the situation itself in detail.
Due to the way our house was built, they ended up having to install plumbing pipes and a main water shut off valve, along with the water softener. When they were finished, they also left us with salt in our water softener as well to get us started.

Overall great service and business! I enjoy how patient they were with all my questions and concerns. They did a good job explaining the process to me in detail and got the job done. Great experience!

We are having the worst experience with making appointments and just having the worst time with getting our units serviced correctly.
We've paid the top price for the AC and the Heating unit. We have had nothing but bad experiences.
We have a hard time talking to a person and have to deal with AI. The only time anyone is interested in talking to us is when Peterman Brothers is going to make some money from us.
We had a good technician who took pictures and showed us what a terrible job the installers had done.

It is all due to Colin who made everything right. If it weren't for Colin, we would still be in a mess. He has taken care of all of that I mentioned above to my husband's and my satisfaction. Thank you, Colin. five-stars for you.

The installation crew didn't check to make sure they had connected power correctly. The furnace went out less than 30 minutes after it was installed, and that is when Peterman got extremely problematic - not wanting to send people out for multiple days, initially saying that nobody could come out for 4 days. Once they agreed to send someone the second day (after arguing with me for 45+ minutes) they then cancelled without telling me, and acted confused when I called and was upset that nobody showed up to the appointment.
My youngest son woke me up worried about how cold his bedroom got, and there was nothing I could do except give him extra blankets, because Peterman brothers couldn't be bothered to fix their mistake in a reasonable time frame.

This is the only team we want to do business with in Knox County. I really can't say just how thrilled we've been with Peterman's willingness to go the extra mile to make sure our system is operating the way it needs to and guaranteeing that we can control our home's climate.

Ductless units are great additions to the house and Peterman's team's knowledge and extensive experience are why some of their guys end up training other service techs for other companies. So long as they're operating in our area, they can expect a call from us whenever things need a tweak or update.

Every single time I deal with Peterman Brothers, I am impressed. Alec is as trustworthy, experienced and kind as the rest. When I gawked at the estimate for water heater replacement and said I’d like to get other estimates, he didn’t try to pressure me at all. He explained confidently what they were offering so I could ask questions of other companies. In the end, he was right. No one else is offering the quality tank and the amazing parts and labor warranty for even close to the cost. As depressing as it can be sometimes to be a home owner of an older home with aging appliances/plumbing, Peterman truly does make it as painless as possible.

There's something about owning a home that causes you to have an immense fear that the sound you just heard is actually a massive money pit opening up. Peterman has brought us some piece of mind though and we love working with them. We had them come to check out our AC and the team was prompt, super nice, and took great care of us. I have been really impressed with their commutation which makes booking them to come out and follow-up near seamless. Eugene from Peterman Brothers arrived today at the scheduled time. He had all the necessary parts and tools and completed the quoted work in a fast and professional; manner. The quality of his work was top notch. The price I was quoted was the price I paid with no hidden surprises. The entire work area was clean and spotless when he was finished.

Eugene walked me through the job when he was finished and took the time to explain in detail why the work was needed.

Also--My dog liked Eugene and my dog doesn't like very many strangers in the house.

We have used Petermann Brothers for a number of years. They always give great service, and have very friendly servicemen. We had them come to clear a clog in our drain, and also to replace our garbage disposal. The person who came to do the work was very friendly, respected our home, and was great with our dog. The price for any of this kind of work is always very high, but theirs doesn't seem as bad as many. I am happy with the work that they did, for the price that they charged. And it's always nice that when they come to do the work

I woke up a few days again to a gurgling sound in my toilet as I was taking a shower. I didn't think much of it, thought it was a clogged drain from hair, I have long curly hair.

Come to find out my sewer is clogged. I called on Sunday. My mom swears by this company. Someone could have come out but I waited until Monday morning. The gentleman were very nice. Educated me along the way and made sure I understood what was happening and why they were doing what they were doing. I've got roots in the line and old clay pipes going out to the sewer line.

I was offered a great deal with good financing. They will be starting work within 48 hours.

Thank god for Petermans. It feels good to have a company you can trust that's honest and explains how things work. Best of all, they do it all: Air conditioning, plumbing, electric, HVAC, water heater.

This could have been a bad day but I feel relieved.

Sometimes, when you're making a major purchase/repair, it's almost like throwing a dart at a dartboard and hoping it hits the right place :)

We checked several places, and all the prices on new furnaces were pretty similar. Some a few bucks more, some a few less, but all right in the ballpark.

We chose Peterman based on the salesperson who visited our house to give us the price. He was friendly and professional, and never made us feel pressured to buy. He simply laid out our options/prices, and basically said "If you need, us, call us". We appreciated that he didn't pressure us to make an on the spot decision for something that would cost several thousand dollars.

Installation day--our installers, Justin and Daniel arrived on time and got right to work. We have an older house, and they ran into a couple of snags, but handled it like true pros. They were friendly yet professional, and kept us appraised of their progress throughout the day.

Once the furnace was installed, tested, and up and running, the did an excellent job of cleaning up and left our house in great shape.

We couldn't be happier with the service from Peterman. We made the right choice.

Kenny Secaur arrived on time at our home on Aug 26 to perform the annual furnace inspection and maintenance as part of our Peterman Protection Club agreement. We had numerous questions about our system, and Kenny was excellent at explaining all the details that we wanted to know. Because we have a whole-house humidifier that runs when the furnace is operating and that system uses city water that happens to contain a lot of minerals, it was important to understand what it takes to change the filters routinely and to keep on a regular schedule of inspections. Kenny was excellent in both his technical work with our system and in educating us about it!

I was hesitant to work with Peterman because I generally think any company with that much advertising is ripping you off. However, we have had nothing but good experiences with this company and their professionals. They are not the cheapest option but they are fast, communicative, straight forward and really take care of the customer service. For example, both times we used them this year they handled contacting the parts company to get the parts sent under warranty. Other companies told me to call the parts company. A small thing but makes life easier when I already have problems on my hands like ice cold showers or no AC! You do pay more but the service is worth it in my opinion. I don't feel ripped off and I trust them!

Routine system maintenance. The service tech, Tanner Nelson, was very respectful and gave me an upfront estimate of the amount of time the services would take. He was pretty accurate with the timeframe too. After completing the services he showed me all the problem areas with my system and solutions to fix the problems. My system runs fine but is getting old and he said there were some concerns and here are the solutions. I appreciate that he did not try to force any of the solutions by trying to say it would cause my system to fail if they were not fixed immediately. He was very upfront with me about the condition of my system and the preventative measures he suggested to keep my system running for longer. I respect honesty more than cost of service and will continue to use this company as long as they keep these values and honesty.

Peterman Heating & Cooling is an excellent HVAC Contractor.

I was recently with another HVAC company, had their Maintenance plan, and upon the technician finishing up the system check for the fall/winter explained that my Air conditioner was failing. The sales rep quoted the cost of the repair and also cost of an entire new HVAC system.

I contacted Peterman for a 2nd opinion. They came at no cost. (Mike/Sales) and (Joshua/Technician). They explained everything very well, Joshua took me out to show me my air conditioner after he opened it up and could see it clearly needed major repairs if not full replacement.

What I liked about Mike and Joshua is that Joshua indicated my furnace may last for some time. Very honest. They provided me with the repair and replacement cost of only the Air Conditioner. They also quoted me a full HVAC system with Daikin product which is the best and a variable system energy efficient vs. single speed. If I were to replace just the Air Conditioner the variable speed would be a waste as furnace would not interface well with that so Variable speed a waste. I also would not receive the full warranty of 12 years on service and parts that I would receive if I bought the entire system now. They provided me with a quote that was $6,000 less than my original provider.

I was sold on Peterman, they did not sell hard, very professional and educated me enough to help me make my own decision. I chose them, and when they installed my system, Eric and Tyler (Technicians) very professional, explained all, and did an excellent job of installation within a day as well as showed me how the system worked, along with the Smart Thermostat.

Peterman is excellent!! I highly recommend them.

Excellent service from the moment I called to inquire about an estimate, very different than other companies. Joshua Purcell was very professional and friendly. He took the time to explain things to me with the plumbing. He was very honest with his suggestions on how to address certain items. Other companies where wanting to change other items that we're working just fine or tried to upsell me on stuff I did not need. After talking to Josh and looking at the items other companies looked at, he gave me a much better solution along with an in depth explanation. Overall they were the most professional company and the only one that left me with a good feeling. I will be going with Peterman brothers for new water lines in our new kitchen/bathroom & our heating and cooling needs.

We first used Peterman Brothers for an emergency water heater issue that happened while we were out of town in September 2023. They were quick to respond on day one and installed a new tankless system the following day. Since then we've joined the maintenance plan. Their technicians are always professional and communication for scheduling is very efficient. Our two most recent HVAC checkups we've had Kevin as the tech. Kevin is very personable, professional, and thorough.

Our air conditioning went out yesterday and the house was miserable. Yesterday morning, I called a few companies, and they were the only one that were able to come out the same day. I knew that we were getting ready to enter a period of a major heat wave, and we needed to know what was going on ASAP.
We were told that they would be there at some point that day, and would call us before the technician came. We got a call about 45 min before that he was on the way.
Patrick was awesome. He find the problem right away and gave us a couple of options on how to fix the problem. He was professional, courteous, and the best part, our house is cool again! We definitely recommend.

Tanner came out an did havoc appointment. Had water backing up from the washer when we used it! It would backup in our kitchen sinks first and then it would go back to the washer and leak all over the floor! They came in and fixed it fairly quick at a very reasonable price! The technician was very friendly and knowledgeable!

We switched from a plumbing provider that offered a subscription service, but at our last visit, charged $200 just for a diagnostic. Peterman Bros. came out the next day, beat the prior quote by 45%, knocked another 15% off the price once we signed onto their membership. I just had them out to investigate a leak, and the visit was $0. ZERO. They do plumbing, electric, HVAC - is there another provider out there that offers a membership across that many services, and does a house visit for free every time? No - there isn't.

As a former house manager for over 30 years, I have higher-than-normal experience with vendors and service personnel and because I work in high end homes, I expect excellent consumer service. Often in my job, I am called to choose the provider and set up services. In this case, the homeowner arranged service and I was present to greet the provider and get them situated. As it turns out, the hot water heater was a goner. Leaking and corrosion at the bottom told me what I already knew. The serviceperson, was amazing. He came with shoe covers ready and was polite, friendly and explained things thoroughly so I could present the information to the homeowner over the phone. The homeowner chose to replace with a tankless system and we scheduled for the next day. The following day, Josh T, Brandon C, Mike W and Daniel T arrived for the big production. This was a challenging job. They covered the carpeting and were respectful of the property and finishes. After realizing the 75 gallon tanks from a basement area would not fit through the door on a dolly, they called the boss who promptly showed up and helped lift them over the trim work and get them out without one scratch to the home. Not an easy job! The crew was there all day and left shortly after 5. Brandon stayed behind to walk through the new equipment maintenance and instructions and ensure everything was satisfactory before having me sign off. I recommend Peterman Brothers for any of your HVAC, electrical or plumbing needs and will recommend them to future clients and colleagues.

Over time, my experience shows that an intermittent problem is the most difficult to detect and repair. We recently had such an experience. Our 50-gallon gas water heater began failing in an intermittent manner. Our call to Peterman Brothers put us in contact with Eric Graham, and wouldn’t you know it was late in the day on a Friday afternoon. Eric was dispatched to assist with our dilemma which turned out to be a defective control valve. With no repair part available until Monday, Eric worked diligently to repair the defective valve on site, giving us the chance that the defective valve would get us through until Monday. It was obvious he was going to do everything within his power to get us through the weekend. His effort was much appreciated.

On Monday, Drew Gomez was dispatched by Peterman Brothers to complete the troubleshooting and replace the intermittent control valve. Drew’s experience and knowledge soon became apparent. Drew’s efforts were impeded by the fact that the replacement valve was likewise defective. Drew’s experience and tenacity came through with flying colors. Through Drew’s effort, our tank was repaired.

Drew was very personable. It was a pleasure to be in his company. We feel like we have made a new friend. We now have hot water thanks to the Peterson Brothers Team. Bud & Sherry Jones

These gentlemen are the Pros! They came across many obstacles with what was apparently an addiction to the house with no crawl space or attic to troubleshoot with, but Successfully conquered. To upgrade the main power meter box to standards was no problem with the Peterman Brothers team! I truly recommend them and definitely will call them again. Become a member and everything you once worried about is ok, you know they'll be there for you. 5++ stars.

Jacob from Peterman Brothers came to our house today to repair the main water shutoff valve. Our street has just been recently repaved and had new curbs and drains installed which left the city shutoff valve buried. Jacob remained undaunted and, despite this handicap, completed the job quickly and efficiently. He was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. In short, he is an exemplary employee!!! A-one service. Highly recommended.

Travis with Peterman Brothers was exceptional! I asked for an estimate to install 2 fans and to possibly add some outlets in my garage. In addition to looking at those things he did a thorough assessment of the status of the electrical workings in my home(something my building inspector recommended when I purchased my home but had never been offered with the small electrical jobs I had done by another company even after I showed them the report). Travis took his time and explained things in an easy-to-understand way for this 75 year old grandma. I had a great experience today with Brandyn. I expressed my concern based on reviews on Facebook and that I was worried I would experience predatory practices or have someone who didn't want to do their job right. This was absolutely not the case. He checked everything and explained everything he was doing. showed me what he found and explained how he tested it. I was involved in the whole process and he answered every question and was very empathetic to our situation. I never felt pressured or uncomfortable. He got everything taken care of same day! I'm very happy he offered me the monthly membership that saves me the 85$ fee on a maintenance check up for my furnace and air conditioner. I even saved money today by getting it! Thank you Peterman Brothers! Please let Brandyn know he is much appreciated and I will deal with him only for my HVAC needs. Definitely recommend!!!!

Efficient, friendly service. I don't like the "all day" system of appointment booking but it's hard to find the time window system any more. Everything is explained, with photos as evidence, and an invoice generated for estimated repairs. Note that customer-supplied parts (e.g. filters for furnace and humidifier) will cost significantly less, as Peterman will add a hefty markup.
